The Old Man of Stoer is an obelisk up on the north of Skye. When we went
there the weather was truly horrendous and we were beaten back to the
caff by high winds and horizontal rain. Not that we wanted to climb it.
Don Whillans did though at E4 grade. The rock is appalling, you can break
chunks off in your hand and it just crumbles in your fingers. Its quality
is similar to my Mum's Christmas cakes.
